FAQs

Registration & Payment

How do I register for classes?
Registration is available online through our website. Simply visit the classes page, select your desired class, and follow the registration prompts. If you need assistance with registration, please email us at info@dancewithena.com.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit cards online. If you need to arrange for a check, cash, venmo (@EnaVyas) or zelle (enakshivyas@gmail.com) payment please email us at info@dancewithena.com Tuition is due in full by the first day of class, and a $25 late fee applies to overdue payments.

Do you offer trial classes?
Yes! All Dance with E.N.A. Studio classes offer a one-time trial class for new students at a drop-in rate of $25. If you register for the full session after the trial class, this fee is applied toward your full session tuition. Please note that per Corte Madera Recreation Center policies, we cannot offer trial classes for dancers registering at that location.

Can I get a refund if we need to withdraw?
Dance with E.N.A. does not provide credit or refunds for registrations cancelled less than one week (7 days) prior to the class/session start date. For summer camps and intensives, we require cancellation at least 30 days before the program begins to process a refund. All refund requests must be submitted in writing to info@dancewithena.com.

What is your policy for mid-session enrollment?
Registration closes two weeks after the start date. Any additions following this date are rarely approved. We encourage you to email info@dancewithena.com as soon as possible to discuss options and next steps.

Do you offer scholarships?
Yes! We believe dance should be accessible to everyone. Student Scholarship funds are available on a need basis and distributed first-come, first-served. While we strive to accommodate every request in full, we may not always be able to grant the entire amount requested. Please visit our scholarship page for application details.

Class Experience

I've never danced before. What level should I sign up for?
Welcome to dance! All our classes are mixed-level and organized by age. Our experienced instructors assess each dancer during the first two weeks of the session and create class content that provides appropriate challenges while ensuring everyone feels comfortable and supported in their learning journey.

What should my dancer wear to class?
Each dance style has specific attire requirements to ensure safety and proper technique development:

Ballet: Ballet Shoes, Tights, Leotard, Skirt optional & Hair in a ballet bun
Bellydance: Barefoot & moveable clothing
Bhangra: Barefoot & moveable clothing (no dresses or jeans!)
Bollywood: Barefoot & moveable clothing (no dresses or jeans!)
Hip Hop: Sneakers (no outdoor shoes please!) & moveable clothing (no dresses or jeans!)
Jazz: Jazz Shoes, Jazz Pants & Leotard preferred
Kathak: Barefoot, Salwar Kameez, & Ghungroos (if dancer has reached that level of training - by invite of instructor only)
Tap: Tap Shoes, Jazz Pants & Leotard preferred (kids classes only - any moveable clothing welcome for adults)

*E.N.A. is a religiously and culturally inclusive environment. If any adjustments to the above standards need to be made for you or your dancer, please don’t hesitate to let our staff know!

Why can't I observe my child's class?
We maintain a closed-studio policy to help dancers develop focus, confidence, and independence. Our experience has shown that students progress more quickly and express themselves more freely when they have space to immerse fully in class without observers. This policy creates an environment where dancers can take creative risks without self-consciousness.

What if my dancer needs to miss a class?
Please notify us via email as soon as you know about an absence. For students participating in performances, attendance is particularly important—dancers may miss no more than 3 classes per session to remain eligible to perform. If more than 3 classes are missed, additional private lessons will be required to catch up.

Are make-up classes available?
We do not offer formal make-up classes, unless the unlikely cancelation of class by the E.N.A. staff.

Studio Logistics

When can we arrive for class?
Dancers may enter the studio up to 5 minutes before class start time. Our instructors use the time before class to prepare their lessons and cannot supervise early arrivals. Punctuality is important for a successful class experience—dancers who arrive more than 10 minutes late may be asked to observe rather than participate for safety reasons.

What is your late pickup policy?
We understand occasional delays can happen, but prompt pickup helps our instructors maintain their teaching schedule. We provide a 15-minute grace period after class ends, after which the following fees may apply:
0-15 minutes late: Grace period

  • 15-20 minutes late: $25

  • 20-30 minutes late: $50

  • 30-45 minutes late: $85

  • 45-60 minutes late: $125

How do you communicate important information to families?
Email is our primary communication channel. Please ensure we have an email address you check regularly. If co-parenting a dancer, please provide contact information for both parents. We ask that phone calls be limited to business hours and for matters that require more detailed discussion than email allows. Text messages should be reserved for emergencies or during show week when email volume is high.

Performance Information

Are performances mandatory?
Yes, Dance with E.N.A. is a performance-based program. All dancers are expected to participate in our bi-annual showcases, which are integral to the learning experience. Extenuating circumstances are considered on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of our Artistic Director.

Can my dancer participate in just one show if there are multiple performances?
No, if your class is scheduled to perform in multiple shows, dancers are required to participate in each performance. This ensures consistency for all performers and honors the collaborative nature of dance performance.

Are rehearsals mandatory?
Yes! Rehearsals are essential for a successful performance experience. If a dancer misses a mandatory rehearsal, they will not be permitted to perform in the show. This policy ensures all dancers are prepared and confident on stage.

What does the performance fee cover?
All dance classes include a performance fee (already incorporated into Dance with E.N.A. Studio class tuition; collected separately for Corte Madera Rec Center classes). This fee covers costumes, performance rehearsals, and student show day fees.

Do I need a ticket to watch the show?
Yes, all audience members ages 2 years and older who occupy a seat require a ticket. This includes family members and friends. Ticket sales help cover venue costs and production expenses that make our high-quality performances possible.
